The entire system is sturdy and will hold up under lots of kid use. The book format is not cumbersome or awkward, making it easy to follow and understand.
It has provided hours and hours of enjoyment. This Learning System LeapFrog LeapPad Learning System makes the perfect gift.
A child can make his/her way through the books with little or no adult supervision. The books are age appropriate, not too easy but not too hard.
It is very user friendly. It can be purchased with or without a carrying bag, which is big enough to hold the system and several game books.
I definitely recommend the Learning System.
If you don't do this quickly, the LeapPad ends the game, which is frustrating for a child. Beyond that headache, the LeapPad is also a poor piece of technology.
The book (worth roughly [.]. of the purchase) uses a British accent.
The product you receive when buying from this link is the UK version of the LeapPad. (Although this product is eligible for Prime shipping, it doesn't come from Amazon).
It is very hard to understand if you're American and is useless to a young child trying to learn phonics. Amazon will not let you exchange the product because it comes from an independent seller.
To answer questions, you must be fairly exact with the pen and press hard. I'm not sure why everyone raves about this game.
This product has been discontinued and I was looking for a replacement for the one my kids already have. We had our old Leap Pad for 5 years before it broke and I think this one will last at least that long (hopefully longer). We have so many of the books and cartridges that I thought it would be a good investment so the younger kid can still play with it. Rather than buying the new TAG system plus the books that go with that, I bought another LeapPad again from Amazon. It's still fun, especially the "Music" book. I think the kids enjoyed that one the most.
A friend then volunteers her son's LeapPad to me and sure enough that one does the same thing. I'd seen nothing. So I call back and cancel an order with them that I had for some games and tell them I will never do business with them again. I bought a leappad at a tag sale and it stutters and clicks non-stop.
Gee.way to keep customers. So I take the pen out, and lo-and-behold, the stuttering and clicking stops. I buy a replacement pen on ebay (brand new in package) and within a few days it starts all over again. I thought I'd seen it all when I had to replace my Apple's power adapter 11 times. But I can't afford to keep replacing things. I am willing to PAY but they refuse.
The rep actually says "Oh. Sorry to hear that." and doesn't even offer to help with the pen situation.
I'll be switiching to vtech toys instead. Leapfrog has outdone them with the poor quality of the stylus pen.
Their customer service is bottom-of-the-line. My friend then tells me this is like her 10th relacement pen.[.].And that shipping takes up to 15 days.
I ask for expedited shipping because my toddler son is FREAKING over his broken toy, and I'm told they cannot expedite. It's too bad because their stuff is actually quite educational.
[.].
My 5 year old daughter really enjoys this interactive toy and has used it quite often. She can use it as a tool to learn about all kinds of topics from reading to science, etc. This is a very fun and educational toy.
